Poetry Open Mic

Strange Days

Fri 6 October

Poetry Open Mic
SHOW INFORMATION

This event takes place at the Richard Jefferies Museum, Marlborough Road, Coate, Swindon SN3 6AA

Read us poems that don’t see straight. Poems that bounce, poems that are unflat, poems that pretend to be other things…or just bring us your anything strange!

With special guest readings from Rachael Clyne & Jinny Fisher. Rachael brings us a touch of wild. Humour and the profound, are her poetry meat and drink. Given her tastes, Swindon has become her mecca of poetry, to which she is firmly attached. Once a violinist, then a psychotherapist, Jinny Fisher has just retired and is looking forward to having more time to write. Carrie Etter says, ‘Taut, precise, and highly charged, Jinny Fisher’s poems weight the silence in which they are read.’

Open mic spaces are limited. Please email hilda@richardjefferies.org to book a reading slot.

There is no exquisite beauty… without some strangeness in the proportion Edgar Allan Poe
