SHOW INFORMATION |
Memory Cinema June Screening: Casablanca (1hr 42mins) Cinemas can provide a powerful way to reconnect with memories and others, yet aren’t always accessible to people with dementia. Swindon Arts Centre is pleased to present a series of dementia friendly film screenings in a safe and relaxed environment. Memory Cinema invites those living with dementia and a friend, family member or carer to come and enjoy a nostalgic film in the relaxed surroundings of Swindon Arts Centre in Old Town. The screening will be tailored to make those living with dementia feel comfortable and safe, with the house lights remaining on low, the option to sing, talk or dance through the film, free refreshments, plenty of clear signage and our friendly ushers on hand to help at all times. There will also be themed mementos available to take home at the end of the film, to remind attendees of their outing and help initiate conversation after the event. Memory Cinema and all activities included are free of charge, though you do need to book a ticket below so that we can monitor numbers. There are a limited number of wheelchair spaces available for these screenings: To check availability and to book a space, please contact Ticket office on 01793 524481 If you have any questions regarding Memory Cinema, you can contact Community and Education Officer, Nyree Kingsbury at nyree@wyverntheatre.org.uk or on 01793 480278.
