LIBBY JACKSON – on women in space!

What does it take to go into space? What are the roles of women in space travel? What do they do behind the scenes? How many women have been into space? Would you like to go?

From Ada Lovelace in the nineteenth century, to the women behind the Apollo missions, from the astronauts breaking records on the International Space Station to those blazing the way in the race to get to Mars, there are numerous extraordinary stories that celebrate remarkable achievements by women working in space travel, literally, around the world.

Human Spaceflight and Microgravity Programme Manager for the UK Space Agency, responsible for programmes on the International Space Station (ISS) and expert contributor to BBC2 programme Astronauts: Do You Have What It Takes? Libby Jackson is the author of A Galaxy of Her Own, which tells extraordinary stories, from small steps to giant leaps, for women in space.
