Frequently Asked Questions

If you're thinking of making a group booking with us, we'd like to ensure that the experience is as simple and as smooth as possible. Below are some frequently asked questions relating to groups and group bookings.

General FAQ

How many tickets do I have to book to be classed as a group?

Generally, booking 8 or more tickets for a single performance or event will classify as a group booking and allow you access to applicable group discounts, flexible reservation periods and no bookings fees being applied.

What sort of discount will I get and will I get any tickets free?

For the majority of our shows we offer the following group discounts:

  • Groups 8 -19: £2.00 off a full price ticket
  • Groups 20-39: £2.50 off a full price ticket + group organiser goes free
  • Groups 40+: £3.00 off a full price ticket + group organiser goes free

Some shows however offer their own group discounts or special rates for schools, larger groups etc. Our show information pages in the What’s On listings give details about available group discounts, or you can speak to one of our Ticket Office advisors who will be happy to help.

Please note that not all of our shows offer group discounts, but where tickets are full price we can usually still offer a reservation period and remove booking fees for 10+ tickets.

How can I make a group booking?

Group discounts and the removal of bookings fees cannot be applied online; therefore group bookings need to be made directly through our Ticket Office. You can however browse through our What’s On listings and view our Seating Plan online.

Once you have decided on the show and date that you would like, contact the Ticket Office (by telephoning 01793 524481 or popping in to see us) and we can reserve the number of seats you need and advise you on the best availability and ticket pricing.

Once we have taken a few details from you, we can send you an invoice detailing what you have reserved and highlighting the date that payment is due or tickets released. For a booking of 8+ tickets we can usually reserve for up to 1 month, subject to availability and show date. The invoice will also contain your order number, which will allow you to make any changes during the reservation period.

Tickets must be paid in full ahead of the performance and cannot be held unpaid for payment until the day of the show.

Can I make a reservation for more than one performance?

Absolutely. Our Ticket Office staff will be happy to help if there is more than one show that you would like to make a group booking for, or if you would like to split a larger group over more than one performance of the same show in order to get the best seats available. If you need separate invoices for each performance booked we can also organise this for you.

Can anyone in my group make changes to the booking and can we pay separately?

We prefer to have one point of contact for a group booking to save confusion and mistakes. This will usually be the person who originally makes the booking and is named on the invoice. If the booking is likely to be passed on for someone else to manage please let us know. We are happy to take part-payment within the given reservation period but cannot accept multiple cards from different people to pay off the booking.

How can I pay for the tickets?

We accept payment by credit or debit card or Wyvern Theatre Gift Vouchers and can either post the tickets to you once they are paid for or leave them at the Ticket Office for you to pick up at your convenience before the performance.

We also accept an online banking transfer (account details are shown at the foot of the invoice patrons receive upon reservation).

What other benefits can I enjoy as part of making a group booking?
